I approach teaching with two primary goals: translating my passion for sociology to spark lifelong interest and engagement among students; and developing not only students’ knowledge, skills, and self-efficacy, but also their empathy and capacity to be good citizens of the multitude of communities they belong to. To achieve these goals, I rely on three main teaching practices: conceptual learning, meeting students at their level, and experiential learning.
To see how these goals are achieved via my teaching practices, please view my syllabus for Urban Social Problems. To view all past teaching experience, please see my CV.
